D Wyatt Kaiser has been placed in concussion protocol.
Kaiser began the season with the Blackhawks and logged four assists in 23 games. The Minnesota-Duluth product endured some struggles toward the end of November, resulting in a demotion to the AHL.
Since joining the IceHogs, Kaiser has three points (one goal, two assists) in 15 AHL games. The 21-year-old rejoined the Blackhawks for a brief stint when Seth Jones went on the shelf but returned to Rockford shortly after.

With Kaiser on the shelf, the Blackhawks are without one of their depth options on defense should further injuries mount. In the meantime, it appears Louis Crevier and Isaak Phillips will continue to get opportunities on Chicago's third pair.
