New York Giants: Analyzing 2024 Schedule And Predicting Win-Loss Record
Vincent Carchietta-USA TODAY Sports

The New York Giants face an important 2024 season ahead. The third season of Head Coach Brian Daboll and General Manager Joe Schoen began with losing the team’s number-two pick from 2018, culminating with drafting Malik Nabers sixth overall. The schedules for this 2024 season were unveiled last night, with 272 matchups to be played in the 18 weeks of the season.

While predicting the full season record output before any player steps on a field can be a futile task, we can still run through and attempt to predict the outcome based on the results of this offseason. With that said, it’s time to run through and predict the Giants 2024 record, in a season where Big Blue needs to return to form.

What Does The Full 2024 Giants Schedule Look Like?

  • Week 1: Vs. Minnesota
  • Week 2: At Washington
  • Week 3: At Cleveland
  • Week 4: Vs. Cowboys (TNF)
  • Week 5: At Seattle
  • Week 6: Vs. Cincinnati
  • Week 7: Vs. Philadelphia
  • Week 8: At Pittsburgh (MNF)
  • Week 9: Vs. Washington
  • Week 10: At Panthers (Munich)
  • Week 11: Bye
  • Week 12: Vs. Tampa
  • Week 13: At Dallas (Thanksgiving)
  • Week 14: Vs. New Orleans
  • Week 15: Vs. Baltimore
  • Week 16: At Falcons
  • Week 17: Vs. Colts
  • Week 18: At Philadelphia

The New York Giants are set to play nine games at home, and eight on the road in 2024. Their strength of schedule is the league’s sixth-hardest, with matchups against several 2023 playoff teams in the offing. These matchups include the AFC North rotating into the schedule for the first time since 2020. In 2023, all four AFC North teams finished with winning records.

Best Case Scenario

The best-case scenario for this Giants season is for Daniel Jones to return early enough in the campaign and return to his 2022 form, which brought the Giants to the postseason as a Wild Card. Malik Nabers explodes onto the scene and becomes the Giants’ first 1,000-yard receiver in six seasons. The defense, headlined by the acquisition of Brian Burns earlier in the offseason, explodes into a top 10-worthy defense under new DC Shane Bowen. Maintaining pace with the Eagles and even the Cowboys will be tough, but Big Blue returns to form for 2024.

Best Case Scenario Record: 10-7, NFC 5th Seed

Worst Case Scenario

Jones’s rehab from his ACL tear does not end with him finding new life in 2024. Or, he ends up not being able to play at all during the campaign. As such, Drew Lock has to hold the reins of the offense for an entire campaign. The defense does not quite keep up with a still-anemic offense, and the ultimate result of this campaign may just be further changes in East Rutherford, a return to the top of the draft, and a likely quarterback of the future in waiting.

Worst Case Scenario Record: 5-12, Last in NFC East

  • Week 7: Vs. Philadelphia, Loss
