Eagles' Fletcher Cox doesn't hold back while defending Nick Sirianni

Many Philadelphia Eagles fans are calling for Nick Sirianni’s job, but defensive lineman Fletcher Cox doesn’t think his head coach should go anywhere.

When asked about Sirianni on Wednesday, Cox gave him a pretty big vote of confidence.

“What is there to talk about? He’s a winner,” Cox said, via Mark Meany of WPVI. “He’s a winning head coach. Did we have some bumps this year? Every team, every organization, everybody goes through it. We don’t look at firing a man that has won 10-plus games two years in a row. He took this organization to three playoff appearances three years in a row. He’s a good leader for this team. He does a really good job.”

The Eagles were 10-1 through the month of November, but they lost five of their last six regular-season games to finish 11-6. They also fell out of first place in the NFC East, losing the division title to the Dallas Cowboys.

To make matters worse, Philadelphia was then hammered by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers by a score of 32-9 in the Wild Card Round this past weekend.

Philly’s collapse has created quite a narrative around Sirianni, with many stating that he simply lost the team and should not remain as coach of the club heading into 2024.

The Eagles also experienced locker room issues toward the end of this season, and now, there are rumors that wide receiver A.J. Brown could want out after he removed Eagles-related content from his Instagram and deleted his X account.

Plus, Sirianni was criticized for how he handled the coaching staff, especially on the defensive side where Philadelphia finished 26th in the NFL.

Of course, Sirianni led Philly to a Super Bowl appearance last year, but that seems like a distant memory now.

Whatever the case may be, it appears that Fletcher Cox has Nick Sirianni’s back. We’ll have to see if other Eagles players feel the same way.
