Mercedes has had a very turbulent and disappointing start to their 2024 Formula 1 season. The Brackley-based team lost seven-time World Champion Lewis Hamilton to Ferrari during the off-season, and are now struggling to obtain decent Grand Prix results.

Following the loss of the Brit, Team Principal, Toto Wolff has spoken multiple times about how he’d like to lure Max Verstappen from Red Bull. There were rumors about a potential 150 Million dollar offer as well during the ongoing Miami Grand Prix weekend.

Now, recently Red Bull boss Oliver Mintzlaff has given an interview about these rumors and shared his thoughts on Toto Wolff’s fixation towards the Dutchman. Mintzlaff spoke about how Wolff should pay more attention to his own issues before trying to obtain Verstappen as a driver.

But I think Toto Wolff should concentrate on his challenges. He has enough of those. And it also has something to do with respect. If I keep talking about the personnel of other teams, that’s not right.

The Austrian implied that the Mercedes boss should concentrate more on fixing the issues with his team and his car. He concluded by also adding how it’s not right for him or anyone else to keep talking about other drivers or other teams.

Oliver Mintzlaff reveals Max Verstappen wants to “fulfill his contract” at Red Bull

The 2024 F1 season has been full of off-track setbacks and internal issues for Red Bull. The team is supposedly in a power struggle after Christian Horner‘s allegations of misconduct toward a female employee.

This has led to a lot of turbulence within the team and also might be a reason why Aero-genius, Adrian Newey decided to leave. Due to these internal issues, there have been a lot of rumors regarding a possible exit from Max Verstappen. But, recently Red Bull boss, Oliver Mintzlaff revealed that the Dutchman wants to fulfill his contract with the team.

Max still has a long-term contract here and hasn’t said a word that he doesn’t want to fulfil it. I’m not at all worried that he’s considering a move. Things just have to calm down again now. That’s what Max wants – and that’s what we want too.

The Austrian added how the three-time World Champion has said nothing about a possible exit from Red Bull and how he’s sure things will be fine soon. Only time will tell what happens, and whether Verstappen will stay at Red Bull until the end of the 2028 season.
